welcome

My name is Brittany and I'm so glad you're here!

GET TO KNOW ME:  I'm married to my best friend, Kevin and together we have two sweet little gifts named James and Ruby.  I love people, good coffee, food, and, most importantly, Jesus.

HOW I STARTED:  I've always loved baking and consider food to be my love language.  When I was little (like 4 years old, little) my mom would reward me with baking.  If I sat still to get my hair trimmed, I could make a chocolate cake.  If I got straight A's on a report card, fresh brownies were not far behind.  When I married my husband in 2013, I found so much joy in preparing food for him.  And when all of our friends started having babies, meals were my way of offering congratulations and support.  One of my first thoughts when someone is sick or dealing with a loss is how to offer comfort through dinner.  I think there is something so healing and intimate about providing for one another's needs through the kitchen.  It's a place of warmth, safety, and fulfillment.  I always assumed that everyone loved making food as much as I did, until one day I heard someone say that "your interests and passions are unique to you.  Not everyone loves making food.  That's something that was specifically placed on the inside of you for a reason."  If not everyone loved to bake, how could I make use of this passion?  I had always dreamed of starting a bakery, but assumed it was something to hold onto until our kids were grown and I had time to devote to a business venture.  And then, all of a sudden, I thought "why not now?"  I mentioned the idea of a home bakery to my husband and was thrilled when he loved the idea and seemed just as excited as I was!  Just like that, I started business research, registered my bakery, received a food safety certification, took on orders, and started baking!

MY VISION:  In 2015, I had my son and entered the world of motherhood.  Being a mama has powerfully changed me and made me so aware of the joys and challenges of raising little humans.  The heart behind Sweet Mama's Bakery is to bless women who are also entering into this season and offer a little extra cheer through a celebratory dessert that's on the house!  Beyond that, graduations, engagements, weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, and everything in between are a chance to share a little extra love and laughter with people you care about and I'd love to be a part of that.  So cheers to reveling in life's most joyous occasions with delicious sweets from the kitchen!
